To help each client have a greater awareness of who they are—To face themselves in a loving yet direct way, even if that picture is difficult. Using massage or cranial sacral therapy, I will facilitate the work to help you become the best version of yourself.
Hello, my name is Sharlene Ashton. Back in 2009 I graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy; it was there I also began my study of Cranial Sacral Therapy. I have continuously used my massage license throughout the years and have cultivated a deeper appreciation and understanding for the many diverse ways the body and mind can heal.
Fast forward to 2017, I started diving deeper into understanding and deepening my practice of Cranial Sacral Therapy. I have taken classes from the Upledger and Milne Institute as well as taken some training under the tutelage of Andrea Carver, LMT, ICST. Andrea taught me how to help facilitate a strong body, mind, and spirit approach to this work. In 2018 I became certified under her as an Intuitive Cranial Sacral Therapist (ICST).
It is from that foundation that my love of learning continues to grow and the desire to help others become a more integrated, whole and connected self deepens. My studies are ongoing as I finish my bachelors in Marriage and Family Studies at BYU-I. I consider myself a lifelong student.
Massage | General or specific focused. This is your massage—we will discuss what you want/need before and during your session. Most would consider the work I do Swedish or deep tissue focused. If you are feeling like you need more of a lymphatic massage— to flush out toxins— that can be incorporate as well.

Intuitive Cranial Sacral Therapy (ICST) | this work has both structural and emotional elements.
Stemming from the work of Cranio Osteopath, William G. Sutherland, and the father of Cranial Sacral Therapy—John Upledger, D.O.— ICST focuses on using the cranial wave and chi of the body system to feel where certain blocks in the body might be. The cranial wave can be felt throughout your entire body as it is a system, in itself, of encapsulated fluid found in the cranium, spinal cord and sacrum. Using this cranial wave, a therapist can feel where certain blocks might be taking place in your body and help facilitate the body’s self-healing by using certain light-touch holds that support the healing process.
What makes ICST different than a regular CST session is the way we approach, as a whole, the tension and blocks within your body. Much of our own suffering comes from our personal thought processes. It is only when we are made aware of these thoughts or blocks in our own life that we can course correct and realign with our true-selves. As your ICST therapist, I feel for these blocks and tensions as we gradually work up the body, processing them as we go (physically, spiritually and mentally). We will have an open discussion examining these thoughts and beliefs that often accompany tension and weakness within the body system. Simply put, I strive to help you bring truth into light. If you’re ready to release these blocks, we work through the process of giving yourself permission to let the negative thoughts go. If you simply want awareness of these thoughts and emotions then we can also work from there.
I hold the belief, as I echo the words of my teacher Andrea, that between you and your higher power, you have all the answers you need—it’s in doing the work where you will find those answers and the healing.
